Welcome to Good Shepherd

Good Shepherd is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) located on the west side of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  2005 marked the 50th anniversary of our life together as a Christian faith community.

Good Shepherd is a growing congregation that believes every member is important.  Every man, woman and child is called both to discern and use the spiritual gifts God has given for doing the work of Christ.  Every Christian person is a minister of the Gospel, called to bear witness to the love of God and to serve God in daily life.

At the center of our life together stands the cross - a symbol of the sacrificial love of God revealed through Christ Jesus, the crucified and risen one.  In Holy Baptism we are marked with the cross of Christ forever.  We "die" with Christ so that we may also be "raised up" with him to a new life which begins now and continues forever.  We rejoice in the new life that God has given us through baptism and faith in Jesus Christ, and we thank the Lord every day for the peace, the joy and all the spiritual blessings that come with knowing and being known by Him.
