Sunday School
Our Sunday school program is based on the classroom model. Children come each week and study a different Bible lesson in the classroom. Periodically throughout the year we have an All Kids Craft Sunday where the lesson is taught and the kids do a craft together.  These Sundays are geared for families to join in the lesson and craft.  Children begin in our Sunday school program when they are three years old and continue on through the sixth grade.Register your children for Sunday school by filling out the registration form and turning it in at the church office or to Linda Campana.
Cherish Our Children Ministry
“The church can’t make society safe for kids. So the church needs to make kids safe for society.” This quote from an article in the May 2006 issue of The Lutheran magazine describes the purpose of the “Cherish Our Children” ministry which seeks to encourage congregations to be more intentional in how they care for, support, and equip young people for faithful lives centered in Christ. Our children are vulnerable and are being exploited in many ways in our society and there is virtually no protection for them. One of the ways we have to tell our kids we care deeply about them is through intentional prayer. Consider what it would be like if every young person in our congregation was prayed for daily, intentionally, and by name by an adult member of our congregation? What transformation might be possible? What would the children think? Of what value would this be to the adults? How might it impact leadership? It is common for us to feel overwhelmed and powerless in changing our culture. Certainly, we are powerless in and of ourselves, and our efforts alone will not turn the tide. The great news is that we have a God who cares and will be with us every moment of the struggle. We have a God who can work through each one of us despite our doubts and inadequacies. You can become an important part in connecting with a child in our congregation, lifting them up in prayer, asking God to be with them, protect them, helping them to feel loved and supported. The beauty of Cherish Our Children ministry is that as we surround our children with prayer, we too deepen our relationship, not only with the children, but with our God as well.Members of Good Shepherd who agree to be in prayer for our youth will receive the name of the young person they will be praying for. Prayer guidelines will also be given to the pray-ers to help. To join the team of people praying for our youth, simply sign the commitment form to have a child assigned to you. These commitment forms will be available online.Thank you for answering God’s call to be a part of this ministry.

Sunday Morning Nursery
We have a paid staff person in our nursery on Sunday mornings during worship. If you need a place to escape with a restless child, you can leave them in the care of our staff in the nursery.
