Women of Good Shepherd

First Friday Fun Night
Ladies, join us for “First Friday Fun Night” the first Friday each month, in Hegge Hall, where women and girls come together in fellowship. Projects abound with all types of crafts, i.e. sewing, knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, jewelry making, t-shirt quilts, and teaching. And we enjoyed a great potluck supper about 6 p.m. So, gals, grab that project that needs to be finished, a friend or two and let’s get together beginning at 2 p.m. Bring a project to work on, or just come to fellowship! We can even have impromptu lessons — just make your requests. There is a lot of talent to be shared among your fellow women. Please bring a dish to pass to enjoy around 6 — even have your family join us for about an hour if you wish. Talk to Heather or DeAnne if you have questions and to RSVP.

Quilting
The Good Shepherd Quilters meet every Tuesday morning from 9-11 a.m. Anyone is welcome to join or come and see what we do. (We do cancel on bad weather days so make sure you call if the weather is questionable.) No quilting skills are required. There are many tasks for sew-ers and non-sew-ers. You can trace, cut squares, pin quilts together, sew around the edges or tie quilts together. Many of the tops are sewn together at home and tied here on Tuesdays.
Donations: Quilts are made from donated materials so contributions of woven fabric, flat or fitted sheets of any size or yarn are appreciated. If you cannot come to church, there are many tasks to do at home. Join us for fellowship and a cup of coffee, we would love to have you join us.

Second Sunday GET is a series of women’s events at Good Shepherd that really capture the spirit of a generation of women who are not afraid to try anything! The series is about getting empowered to try something new and share a talent you already have. Do you have something you have always wanted to learn how to do? A craft or a skill you would like to try, but don’t really know how to get started? Or do you have a hobby you love and would be willing to help others learn about? We need your ideas! Check out the bulletin board suggestion sheet to let us know how you would like to get empowered! Upcoming topics already include:

GET Sweet, Feb. 8, after second service. Come for the potluck and stay to make your own chocolate desserts!

GET Power, June – Ever wish your could run a power saw? Or an air nailer? Or maybe you just wish you could use a power screwdriver to hang a picture? No problem! We have the tools to help you get started! Come and join us!
