Congregation-wide Mission Trip 2015

Upcoming fundraisers:

June 20 – Westside Neighborhood Day (including thrift sale, music, concessions, bouncy house)
Drop off dates for thrift sale items: May 17, 24 and 31 and June 7 from noon-2 p.m. Large item collection day is June 7 ONLY.

Where: Sault Ste Marie, Michigan
When: July 19-23, 2015
Who: For anyone – all ages are welcome to go and serve for a few days. This is for families, individual adults, couples, and senior high youth.
Details: Cost for the trip will be approximately $360 per person, children under 3 are free. A deposit of $60 will need be paid by Jan. 15. The remainder of the funds ($300) will be raised through stewardship and fundraising. Scholarships are available, see Jenny regarding this. A Letter of Commitment must be turned in with the deposit.

A typical schedule:

4:30-6 p.m.      Group arrives at housing site
6 p.m.                Dinner and clean up
7-8:30 p.m.      Group orientation and snack
8:30-9 p.m.      The Gathering (an interactive time of processing and worship led by Youth                               Works staff)
9-9:30 p.m.      Church group time (a time to process the day as a group)
10 p.m.              Lights out

Monday through Wednesday
6:45 a.m.           Breakfast crew in the kitchen
7 p.m.                 Wake up
7:15-8 a.m.        Breakfast buffet (everyone also packs their own lunch during this time
8-8:30 a.m.       Breakfast/building clean up
8:30-9 a.m.       Personal devotion time
9 a.m.                Gather and depart for ministry sites. Lunch is around noon at ministry sites
3 p.m.                Depart ministry sites
3-5 P.M.            Showers, afternoon snack, leader meeting, dinner crew prepares meal
5-6:15 p.m.       Dinner and clean up
6:15-8:15 p.m.  Evening activity and snack
9:15-8:45 p.m.  The Gathering
9-9:45 p.m.      Church group time and prepare for bed
10 p.m.              Lights out

6:30-7:30 a.m.  Wake up, load vehicles, eat breakfast
7:30-9:30 a.m.  Building clean up and send off
